Vision

Queensland Domestic Violence Services Network (QDVSN) is a Queensland network of Regional and State-wide Domestic Violence Services that works collaboratively and strategically to advance understanding of gender, structural, political, economic, legal and cultural inequalities and inequities which result in gender based violence.

QDVSN Role

The role of QDVSN is to:

  • Provide peer support, information sharing and debriefing within our membership;
  • Be a change agent by providing a reference point and a collective voice to Government, non-government and member services on State and National issues relating to domestic and family violence.

QDVSN Membership

The QDVSN is made up of the non-government Regional or State-wide domestic and family violence services of Queensland.  The QDVSN is convened by Heather Nancarrow, Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research and the secretary and secretariat function is provided by Amanda Lee-Ross, Cairns Regional Domestic Violence Service.

QDVSN Issues Papers

To enhance information sharing and collaboration between networks, QDVSN decided to distribute to other related and like networks and services, relevant issues arising from the QDVSN meetings.  At the same time, we recognised that our networks are frequently responding to and discussing the same issues, and the strength that lies in coordinating and sharing such information.  A QDVSN Issues Paper is prepared and disseminated after each QDVSN meeting highlighting the key relevant issues arising.  Past and present Issues Papers and other relevant material are available for downloading below.
